Official: Lyon confirm Milan are entitled to 15% as Paqueta joins West Ham

Lucas Paqueta has officially joined West Ham in a record-breaking deal and it has been revealed how much AC Milan will get from the transfer. Given the high fee, it’s a decent chunk for the Rossoneri.

After a disappointing spell at the club, Milan decided to sell Paqueta in the summer of 2020 to Lyon. They received ‘just’ €20m from the sale but at least managed to include a 15% resale clause, which as it turns out was a very smart decision.

Earlier this evening, Lyon confirmed the transfer of Paqueta to West Ham for a record-breaking fee of €61.6m including bonuses (€18.6m). The French side also confirmed that Milan are entitled to 15% of the profit, i.e. potentially €61.6m-€20m = €41.6m.

Obviously, it might not be that much in the end depending on the bonuses. The Rossoneri can probably expect to cash in around €5-6m, though, which is a very welcome boost to the current transfer market pursuits.
