This afternoon, Ruben Amorim has made several changes to his AC Milan team after the defeat to Chelsea last week.
It is the final pre-season test for Milan today, as they prepare for their Serie A opener against Torino next weekend. There is still a lot to learn in the squad, with Amorim making key decisions about who will stay and go in the past week.

Nevertheless, his hands are somewhat tied here, with several injuries to contend with. So, a few of his selections have arguably been made for him.
The named XI
At the back, Lorenzo Torriani starts again as expected and the back three will be made up of Filippo Terracciano, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic. A pretty forced decision from Amorim, considering who is available to him today.
Interestingly, it is Pavlovic who takes the armband too, today, with Matteo Gabbia and Mike Maignan unavailable.
As expected, the midfield sees a few changes with Samuel Chukwueze, Ardon Jashari, Yunus Musah and Pervis Estupinan starting.
Then, leading the line, there are no real shocks here again, with Amorim’s decisions effectively made for him, as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Alphadjo Cisse start behind Goncalo Ramos.

Our fans wanna sell all our players, Nkunku, Fofana and have our bench looking like this ? Ridiculous. I was glad that each position has 2 players that can substitute for each other. Until Amorim decided to continue the same nonsense most coaches have been doing in the past 6 years. Thin down the team. Smh
The squad should be trimmed a bit and it needs to be reduced from 33 to 27 (don’t forget the new players are yet to come) but that shouldn’t be done by sending out Athekame on a loan and keeping Ricci, Musah, Estupinan and Loftus-Cheek. Also, we need A PROFILE LIKE Nkunku(‘s), that fast and mobile type of AMC/SS.
The retuning players from last year’s loans is what is causing the bloat in the squad numbers. This includes Musah. Plus there were existing deadwood even with our trimmed squad from last year such as RLC. And now the new directors have failed to sell anyone. But we must sell some players, at least 7 in order to meet squad lists requirements.

I sincerely hope they will sign a RWB now that Athekame has left.

You clearly don’t watch football. You expect a new coach go just pick the supposed first eleven and play them all through the pre season? How do you evaluate the rest of the squad? Guess too??
Let’s agree that I do not understand much, or even anything, about football… Hence, could someone help me understand just slightly a bit more by answering why are Estupinian and Cisse, who are both in Amorim’s ‘sell list’, in the starting lineup of this friendly, one week before our first official game..? Stupidnan is still given chance to play? What a joke, such mediocre player should have been sold long time ago, and Musah? Oh come on better give more playing time to Comotto. Amorim make me feel so nervous that Milan Will end up worse than last year
Ricci is a disaster and Jashari has been a complete flop. Why do you expect mediocre players to be in the team?
Randomly saying top players like Fofana and Nkunku has no place in your team makes it easier for teams to offer low money for those players. A reasonable team should have continued playing those players and if any offer comes in, you evaluate the offer. But saying they’re not needed on the team makes it impossible to easily sell them. We just never learn I guess.
You are right. I wouldn’t like to see them depart either but, let’s face it, they are not exactly TOP players. Again, you are on point, we are doing the same thing, we keep making the same mistake over & over again…
And at the first minute, Musah casually loses the ball, shot on target for Man U and Musah defends Maguire on the goal ! But Nkunku and Fofana were the bad players Amorim saw in the team. This guy will be sacked by game 5
Jashari is such a proper player. The guy should be the starter for sure but we’re gonna end up depending on a 40 year old when we need to build for the future away from the 40 year old.
Chuk should NEVER be sold too.

Torriani showed the pre season Fonseca had him playing that he was ready. It’s time to promote him to the starter and let aging Maignan go. This kid is so ready!!
But when they leave, who is left? Players who are Much worse! So unless Milan replaces departing players with better ones, which is not what is happening, this team will go nowhere.
Terracciano can’t play CB no way he doesn’t have the skills or brain to play there
Chukwueze is the most dangerous player we have in this team. No question
