Official: Messias handed €2k fine for diving – Giroud and Theo suspended

By Isak Möller -

The Sporting Judge has announced all the punishments following AC Milan’s win over Spezia yesterday, having analysed the protocol of the referee. Junior Messias has been fined for his dive.

In the 63rd minute, Messias was handed a yellow card by the referee for what was quite clearly a dive inside the penalty box. The Brazilian wanted the penalty but it was a little too obvious this time, resulting in the card.

As confirmed by the Sporting Judge (via SempreMilan.it), Messias has been handed a €2k fine as it was a clear and obvious simulation. The suspensions of Theo Hernandez (yellow card accumulation) and Olivier Giroud (red card) were also confirmed in the report.

Milan will take on Cremonese on Tuesday evening and the replacements for the aforementioned should be Fode Ballo-Toure and Divock Origi. It’s a big opportunity for both of them to impress after a somewhat tough period.

  1. Okay, when the hell are they going to revoke that punishment, to be booked ALWAYS, for taking off your shirt when celebrating. SUCH A STUPID RULE!
We keep on seeing that it’s an instinctive, almost visceral feeling that encourages them to do it, dispite the booking.
And why’s that?! Some quazi miralism in football?!
Jesus… the stupidity in those who make these rules doesn’t seem to be slowing down!
