AC Milan have announced the signing of Astin Mbaye, signing a preliminary agreement with the 16-year-old. He will join the club in the summer and the idea is that he will eventually play for the Futuro side.
The news regarding Mbaye’s arrival broke yesterday, as Matteo Moretto reported that Milan had reached an agreement with the centre-back. Having just turned 16, this meant the Rossoneri could have him sign a professional contract rather than a youth contract.
As confirmed by Milan Futuro’s statement, the player will join Milan in July and he will also start training with the U17 team initially, rather than going straight to the Futuro. In other words, he’s definitely a signing for the future.
“AC Milan can announce that a preliminary agreement for the transfer of Astin Mohammet Zaehb Mbaye has been reached.
“Astin was born in New York on 5 March 2009 and has dual USA and German citizenship. As a defender, Astin is already a mainstay of the USA youth teams.
Astin Mbaye will be available to the “Milan Futuro project”, starting from the Academy in the U17, from 1 July 2025,” the statement reads.
In the meantime, Milan Futuro are fighting for salvation in Serie C with Massimo Oddo in charge, having parted ways with Daniele Bonera after a dreadful run of results.
Will he be a world class player? Mbaye…. sorry, Maybe…..
Thank you for your joke. NEXT!!
