Official: AC Milan confirm Daniel Maldini has joined Spezia on a season-long loan

By Isak Möller -

Daniel Maldini has completed a loan move to fellow Serie A side Spezia, in need of consistent playing time to continue his development. This was announced by AC Milan on their official website this evening.

The youngster, son of technical director Paolo Maldini, played just 239 minutes for Milan in all competitions this past season. It’s obviously not enough for a player of his age, but he did manage to find the back of the net with a very important goal away at Spezia.

On their official website, AC Milan confirmed that Maldini has joined Spezia on a season-long loan. There was no mention of a buy-out/buy-back clause and that’s because the Rossoneri opted for a dry loan instead.

“AC Milan can confirm that Daniel Maldini has joined Spezia Calcio on loan. The Club wishes Daniel all the best for the coming season,” the statement read.

Hopefully, Maldini will get consistent playing time at Spezia and if that ends up being the case, it will be very interesting to see him in action. We have seen glimpses of his qualities, but there is still a long way to go.
