Official: Milan confirm they have extended Antonio Mirante’s contract

By Isak Möller -

In addition to the renewal of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, as well as the signing of Alessandro Florenzi, AC Milan have now also announced the renewal of Antonio Mirante. The goalkeeper will remain until 2023.

Mirante joined Milan mid-season to cover for Mike Maignan who had to recover from an injury. He didn’t make a single appearance for the Rossoneri this past season but given his experience, the management has decided to extend his deal.

This was announced by Milan just a few minutes ago, stating that the option to extend his contract until 2023 has been exercised. For the club, Mirante is the perfect third choice as he’s both reliable and cheap for them.

“AC Milan can confirm that the option to extend Antonio Mirante’s contract until 30 June 2023 has been exercised,” the statement read.

The goalkeeper will be the third choice next season as well behind Mike Maignan and Ciprian Tatarusanu. The latter did well when called upon last season and it remains to be seen if Mirante will make an appearance. Perhaps in pre-season.
