Official: Milan confirm presentation of new stadium

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have confirmed via an official statement that they will – along with Inter – present designs for the new stadium on Thursday.

The event was officially confirmed on Monday, during which plans for the new stadium project will be unveiled to the public and – more importantly – to leaders of the council.

We have already seen leaks of what the two competing designs look like, with il Corriere di Milano – as cited by MilanNews.it – describing it as a ‘cathedral versus wedding rings’.

A more detailed view of the Populous design was revealed via a YouTube video from mufate7 on Tuesday, though we are now set to see the full and proper presentation.

A statement on acmilan.com reads: “On 26 September, A.C. Milan S.p.A. (AC Milan) and F.C. Internazionale Milano S.p.A. (FC Inter) will present the shortlisted concept designs for San Siro’s new stadium, together with plans for an exciting urban redevelopment project for the surrounding San Siro area.

“The event will mark the launch of an open dialogue with the City and its people, reinforcing the Clubs’ commitment to engage the local community in this process.

“Citizens and fans can follow the presentation event live from 11.00 on the AC Milan App, as well as via a live stream on the Clubs’ new dedicated website www.nuovostadiomilano.com, which will serve as a community resource page for the entire project, enabling community members to ask questions, and to share their ideas and insights.

“The Clubs will continue to engage in an open and constructive manner with local institutions and other stakeholders, continuing a process which began in July with the filing of the ‘Technical and Economic Feasibility Study’ for the new Milano stadium and the multifunctional district for the Municipality of Milan.”
