Official: Milan confirm staff member Bonera has tested positive for Coronavirus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have confirmed that first team staff member Daniele Bonera has tested positive for Coronavirus following a test on Monday.

Ahead of Saturday’s derby against Inter, the headlines continue to be dominated by COVID-19. Six Nerazzurri players are currently positive for the virus, while Milan will be without Matteo Gabbia and Leo Duarte as things stand.

According to the official Milan website, they will also be without Bonera on the sidelines. The former defender underwent a swab test yesterday at home after having sustained a fever, which has since resulted in a positive test for COVID-19.

As a result, Bonera is currently at home in quarantine and is in a good condition. The good news is that all of the other members of the squad tested negative during Monday’s round of swabs, so strict monitoring will now follow in accordance with ATS guidelines in the hope that there are no more positive cases.
