Official: Milan suspend youth activities until November 2 as several players test positive

By Isak Möller -

As if it wasn’t complicated already, the second wave of COVID-19 has hit Europe and several players have tested positive in the last few weeks. Therefore, it’s important for the clubs to strictly follow the protocols in place.

Five Rossoneri players have tested positive in recent weeks, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which has been an inconvenience for Stefano Pioli. Now, though, the squad is almost back to full strength once again.

However, as a result of several positive tests in the youth sector (who train at Vismara), the Rossoneri have decided to suspend their activities until November 2. A drastic measure, you could argue, but one that is needed to avoid more consequences.

“AC Milan announces that, following a series of Covid-19 positive results, all activities related to the Youth Sector are suspended until Monday 2 November. The local health authorities have been informed,” the statement read.

On another note, we will soon publish a piece on the Rossoneri’s Swedish trio in their academy: Lukas Björklund, Wilgot Marshage and Emil Roback. It will include exclusive interviews, so make sure to keep an eye on the site in the coming days.
