In recent days, AC Milan have been reported to have an interest in Lecce star, Patrick Dorgu, but the Danish full-back has just signed a new deal, which will make completing a deal more difficult.
It seems that Milan’s focus currently is signing a versatile full-back, and Dorgu fits the mould of this perfectly. The Dane has played regularly on both flanks and with him being 19 years old, he will only continue to get better with age.
However, the Rossoneri have been dealt a blow today with Lecce announcing that the youngster has extended his deal with the club until the summer of 2029 on their X account.
There should still be confidence from the Diavolo, though, given the player will probably leave the Salento club before his new contract expires – at least if he stays on his current trajectory. Therefore, his new deal may offer his current club slightly more security.
His old contract would have kept him at the club until 2027, so this new extension points more in the direction of securing the position of all parties, rather than it being a case of fear that he will run down his contract.
Milan are not believed to be the only club interested in the Dane, with Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea all taking an interest.
Good for Patrick Dorgu. Kid would’ve been rotting on Milan’s bench with a career in ruin if he came here. He is a real talent who deserves proper opportunities to grow
They’re increasing their credit worthiness with this move.
