Official: Milan vs. Bodo/Glimt starting XIs – Colombo gets first start for the Rossoneri

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has named a starting XI without many surprises for the Europa League third qualifying round game against Bodo/Glimt.

Pioli has a lot of different selection headaches heading into the game against the Norwegian side, who have won 18 of their last 20 games and are unbeaten in that stretch.

Milan revealed on Thursday that Ibrahimovic has tested positive for COVID-19 following a second round of tests ahead of the game, while Leo Duarte is also out having contracted the virus.

Rafael Leao will sit out as he is not fit after observing quarantine, while Ante Rebic is disqualified until the group stages (if his team-mates secure it).

This means Lorenzo Colombo will make his first competitive start for Milan, and he is supported by Castillejo, Calhanoglu and Saelemaekers from right to left.

Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer are the midfield duo, with Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia and Theo Hernandez protecting Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Romagnoli and Musacchio are both not fit yet, so it means Milan have no reserve centre-back options.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Saelemaekers; Colombo.

Official Bodo/Glimt XI (4-3-3): Haikin; Sampsted, Lode, Moe, Björkan; Fet, Berg, Saltnes; Zinckernagel, Junker, Hauge.
