Official: Milan vs. Genoa to be played behind closed doors this Sunday – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

It has been officially confirmed that AC Milan’s game against Genoa has been rescheduled for this Sunday at 15:00 CET.

Five games over the weekend were postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in Italy including the game between the Rossoneri and the Rossoblu, originally scheduled for Sunday lunchtime. Meanwhile, Milan’s clash with Juventus in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg on Wednesday was also called off.

Serie A has been hit by chaos over the past week as coronavirus continues to spread throughout Italy and particularly Lombardy, the region of which Milan is a capital.

The number of cases within the country has risen to over 3,000 including 107 confirmed deaths at the time of writing, leading to the decision to have all Serie A games played in front of no fans until April 3.

The league have officially confirmed that Milan’s game against Genoa will be behind closed doors at San Siro this Sunday, with kick-off time at 15:00 CET. This of course means that Monday’s trip to Lecce will now be rescheduled.
