Official: Milan vs. Man Utd starting XIs – Ibrahimovic on the bench as Pioli fields no striker

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has named a starting XI for tonight’s second leg against Manchester United that rather reflects the current injury situation.

Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao are not in the squad, while Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria have also missed out, but the centre-forward will not even be Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Pioli explained yesterday at the press conference does not have 90 minutes in his legs, so Samu Castillejo will play at the centre of the Milan attack and will act as a false 9.

Donnarumma will have a back four of Kalulu, Kjaer, Tomori and Theo Hernandez ahead of him with Meite and Kessie in midfield. Saelemaekers will be on the right and Krunic on the left, with Calhanoglu behind Castillejo.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Kalulu, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Meite, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Krunic; Castillejo.

Bench: A. Donnarumma, Tătărușanu, Dalot, Gabbia, Bennacer, Díaz, Tonali, Ibrahimović, Tonin.
