SSC Napoli have officially confirmed that they have signed Noah Okafor from AC Milan on a loan with option to buy deal.
Despite the change in head coach to Sergio Conceicao, Okafor has struggled for regular playing time and it became clear that he was deemed by no means indispensable to the management or the coach.
The failed move to RB Leipzig made the headlines a couple of weeks ago, which initially believed to have collapsed due to an injury problem, but then it emerged that there were issues with the finances of the deal.
Napoli then stepped forward on deadline day, and Fabrizio Romano gave the deal ‘Here we go’ status, the Swiss international will move to Napoli on a loan deal with a €23m buy clause in the summer.
On their official website, Napoli write: “SSC Napoli announces that it has acquired the sporting services of Noah Okafor from AC Milan on a loan with an option to buy.”
What the Partenopei are getting is an impact player off the bench, given five of Okafor’s seven Serie A goals have come in the final 10 minutes of play (from the 81st minute onwards, including injury time). Only Marcus Thuram (eight) having scored more in the last two seasons.
The buy clause seems like the right number. He never really fully got a chance at Milan, but he also never truly showed flashes of being a top player during the time he did have. We’re not competing with Napoli this year so not too much of a risk from that perspective either. Hopefully he performs well enough for them to exercise.
A player who really seems to care but can’t work out what position he’s supposed to be in – maybe Conte can help his game, but I think we’ll see him back in a few months along with everyone else we’ve loaned out.
his gonna be great at Napoli
i wish so bro
Milan selling players to rivals left and right. So they can score against us. We’re almost the Chelsea of serie A
Napoli is not our rival this season, they’re playing for the scudetto while we’re 8th 19pts behind them.
We gave a player to one of our rivals (Calabria to Bologna) and we got another player from another rival (Scottil from Fiorentina)
Every top club sells players to other top clubs, have you missed the history of football? Even if the cripple Okafor is a success at Napoli, so what? He was given a chance this season and he failed. He was good in his first season and couldn’t build on that. He’s also feeble and can’t stay fit.
Watch Conte turn Okafor into a beast.
Seriously this d*mbass management are fking clueless, relying on a fake algorithm.
Yeah this season is done. We’re cooked af.
ANDA SIAPA???
🤣🤣
And the Drama Queen of the Month award goes to…! 😀 😀 😀
Still whining I see
And which fake algorithm is that? You don’t know what you’re talking about. Okofor is a talented player that can’t stay fit and can’t be relied on from the start. As for Conte, tell me what he did for Krava and Osimhen? He’s already destroyed the team. Wait until next season when Napoli are in Europe…
You’re contradicting yourself. You clearly think he has the potential to be a “beast” – well “the algorithm” agreed with you and then we signed him. It was consecutive coaches that benched him.
I’m no fan of RedBird, but if you blame them for every single thing you dont agree with then you dilute your argument.
Think.
Okafor was great last season. Did more than anyone could have asked. But based on this season’s performances, it was the right decision to trade him for someone else.
Under Conte’s management Noah will improve.
Milan never gave him a real chance.
Did you noticed that most of the players that left Milan, suddenly plays better in their new teams ?
There’s out of favour players all over Europe who found new clubs last night. You’d expect out of favour players to go and do better at their new team – same goes for Felix and Walker.
If we were selling starters, that would be a bigger problem.
CDK and Saelemaekers are the only two who have gone on to be very good players AND this happens to all clubs so it’s pointless to complain. Some players work better under different coaches in different systems. It doesn’t matter how good CDK is at Atalanta, that doesn’t mean he’d be equally as good at Milan.
The buy clause is a certainty we’d see him back at Milan, 13-15mill is a fair value for this player. If napoli decideds to buy, they’d look for a discount at this price.
