Official: Pierre Kalulu joins Juventus on loan with option to buy – the figures

This evening, Juventus announced the signing of Pierre Kalulu on an initial loan deal. The transfer had been in the pipeline for a few days as the Bianconeri had reached an agreement with AC Milan, missing the go-ahead from the player.

Kalulu was left out of Milan’s squad for both the Monza and Torino games amid the advanced negotiations with Juventus. However, it took a little more time for the deal to get over the line as the player took his time to make the final decision.

On their official website this evening, Juventus announced that they have completed the signing of the Frenchman and the figures of the deal were also confirmed…

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement with AC Milan for the temporary acquisition, until 30 June 2025, of the registration rights of the player Pierre Kazeye Rommel Kalulu Kyatengwa has been finalized for a consideration of €3.3 million, payable in two financial years.

“The agreement further entails the right for Juventus to definitively acquire the player’s registration rights. The agreed consideration for the potential definitive acquisition is €14 million, payable in three financial years; this consideration may be increased up to a maximum of €3 million over the duration of the player’s contract, upon the achievement of further performance objectives,” the statement read.

Milan also put out an official statement but they were a lot more cryptic, simply stating that Kalulu has joined Juventus on loan with option to buy. It is also believed that the option could turn into an obligation to buy under certain conditions.

  1. Well we do need to trim down the squad size, but I’d rather Thiaw leave. Either way, neither Kalulu (injury prone) nor Thiaw have performed up to par in recent years. Kalulu off two poor seasons. But I’d rather he stay over Thiaw.

  2. Very very bad deal. Not just that we lost a decent player, but we also loaned it to Juve. We strenghten a direct competitor. On top of that, Juve takes no risk since they have option to buy. If it doesn’t work out they can return him, and if it does work out, they have a good player for cheap. 14mil payed in 3 years lol. This club is runned by clowns with zero football perspective.

    1. Yeah a player that was injured one year and bad the next… is it really a bad deal for us? Just another De Sciglio like deal that won’t help them at all.

      1. Pulisic was injured and bad but he helped us when he came here. So no one can say for sure if Kalulu wont help them. But again, even if he doesn’t, they can just return him no risk for Juve, only possible gain.

  3. Absolute bargain for Juventus and someone I’ve very sad to see go, he’s done a lot for this team. I get that he’s had injuries that have destroyed his value but this seems to be a result of the poor planning that’s forced us to sell in order to register players – we’ve brought in a lot of people without being able to sell and now we’re in a bad position to bargain when teams know we have to offload as we can’t play the player.

We, me included, have all been crying out for us to sign players as soon as possible, without really factoring this in until it’s too late.

  4. Disgraceful decision by management.
A poor deal, a poor price, strengthen a rival.

A player who is still young, has so much class and is already proven at top level. He is a player who never complained or caused problems.
Rewarded by being banished in favour of a cheap import.
Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori was the future, along with Simic and a steady Gabbia.

More unnecessary upheaval, but hey it helps balance the books!

What happens when we get a few injuries and Pavlovic and Emerson are still adjusting?

    Baffling decision

  5. We stupid and that is. Keep Calabria and lose Kalulu only we can. Juve always make us donkey when transfer politics is. I still cry what they do it to us with Bonucci.

  6. What is this type of business. Don’t they understand the simple concept time value of money. I thought they are all business man.

  7. We must have the dumbest fans in Serie A. A loan with an option to buy is standard for many loan moves. We get rid of an injury prone player who’s had one good season in 4, for a potentially huge profit and it also opens a route to a player from the youth team. WTF are people complaining for?!?!?

    1. Strengthening our direct rival who couldn’t sign anyone else on the most hilarious formula that our management never uses… we can easily get ST with that formula but nooooo, Ibra doesn’t want to spend… we left way more error prone defender who costed us 2 points this season and 9-11 points last season…

  8. You are referring to the Scudetto season ofcourse. But like one above is mentioning, a top class player, steady player, never complained and he didn’t want to leave to begin with. He would play RB or CB if the coach wanted him to, and if he had some minutes on the pitch to even get back to Scudetto season, he would cemented the RB spot
