Official: Pioli names 19-man squad for Bodo/Glimt clash – Paqueta left out once again

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has once again snubbed Lucas Paqueta from his 19-man squad for the Europa League game against Bodo/Glimt.

Milan revealed on Thursday that Ibrahimovic has tested positive for COVID-19 following a second round of swab tests ahead of tonight’s game against the Norwegian high-flyers.

As a result, it is expected that young striker Lorenzo Colombo will lead the line for the Rossoneri against the high-flying Norwegian side, with Pioli unable to call upon the suspended Ante Rebic or Rafael Leao, who is not yet back at fitness after recovering from COVID himself.

Meanwhile, Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio, Leo Duarte and Andrea Conti are all also out, meaning Pioli has a selection nightmare on his hands if a defender gets injured.

Interestingly, Lucas Paqueta has also been excluded, fuelling rumours that Lyon are in talks over a move.

Below is the list of 19 players that Pioli has called up for the game…

GOALKEEPERS
A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma, Tătărușanu.

DEFENDERS
Calabria, Gabbia, Hernández, Kalulu, Kjær, Laxalt.

MIDFIELDERS
Bennacer, Çalhanoğlu, Díaz, Kessie, Krunić, Saelemaekers, Tonali.

FORWARDS
Castillejo, Colombo, Maldini.
