Official: Pioli names 21-man squad for Brescia game – Paqueta asks to be left out

By Oliver Fisher -

Lucas Paqueta asked head coach Stefano Pioli not to be summoned for Friday’s clash with Brescia, according to a report.

The Rossoneri will be looking to build on their good recent form which has seen them win the last three games in all competitions by an aggregate score of 8-2.

However, they will have to do so without Lucas Paqueta. Calciomercato.com reported earlier on Thursday that the Brazilian went to La Madonnina clinic after the game against Udinese for checks, following a slight tachycardia.

Tachycardia usually stems from anxiety and stress that causes the player’s heart rate in rest mode to be above that at the normal level. The report adds that Paqueta hasn’t settled in Milan: he has no social life and hasn’t found friends.

According to the latest from Sky Italia – as cited by MilanNews.it – there are no physical problems behind his exclusion. Instead, Paqueta completed the entire training at Milanello on Thursday and then asked Pioli not to be called up for Brescia-Milan.

Below are the 21 players called up by Pioli…

GOALKEEPERS
Begović, A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma.

DEFENDERS
Conti, Gabbia, Hernández, Kjær, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodríguez.

CENTROCAMPISTI
Bennacer, Bonaventura, Çalhanoğlu, Kessie, Krunić.

FORWARDS
Castillejo, Ibrahimović, Leão, Piątek, Rebić, Suso.
