AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has officially named his 21-man squad for tonight’s Champions League last 16 first leg against Spurs.
Milan come into the game having halted their seven-match winless run with a 1-0 victory against Torino on Friday night in what was far from a vintage performance but produces a result that was absolutely necessary.
MilanNews reports that the team met this morning at the Hotel Melià in the San Siro area for the retreat that will take them up to tonight’s match against Tottenham, a first UCL home knockout game since the 2013-14 season.
Pioli has officially confirmed the players that he has summoned for the clash against a familiar opponent in Antonio Conte, with the obvious exceptions being Ismael Bennacer – who is still recovering from a muscle problem – as well as Alessandro Florenzi who is back in training but has been out for months and won’t be risked.
Goalkeepers: Mirante, Tatarusanu.
Defenders: Tomori, Gabbia, Kjaer, Kalulu, Calabria, Ballo-Touré, Thiaw, Theo Hernandez.
Midfielders: Pobega, Tonali, Krunic, Saelemaekers.
Forwards. Origi, Rebic, De Ketelaere, Diaz, Messias, Leao, Giroud.
I bet Origi will score a hat-trick as he’s such a Liverpool-legend. 😀
I still don’t understand why didn’t include Zlatan. It must have been Zlatan choice. Everything else would be so weird.
Zlatan hasn’t played in almost a year, he is 41, why is it weird that he isn’t on the UCL list? He is probably not even ready to play , they just put him on the bench vs Totino to scare his teammates to perform on the field since the coach has lost that ability
“I still don’t understand why didn’t include Zlatan. ”
Simple. Not fit to play on the highest club competition level. Would you be after being away from the pitch for almost a year?
Tonight I would love to see this starting 11
