Official: Pioli names 23-man squad for Atalanta clash – Borini returns, duo out

By Isak Möller -

Just before the press conference started at Milanello this afternoon, Stefano Pioli named his 23-man squad for the clash between Atalanta and AC Milan tomorrow. After a draw last time out, he will be hoping for a win.

However, Atalanta are no easy task, especially on their home turf. Pioli’s men will have to be at their best to claim all three points tomorrow, as we saw in last season’s encounter at the stadium. With regards to the squad selection, there are no surprises.

Fabio Borini is back in the squad after he was excluded against Sassuolo, which several outlets described as a technical choice. Then again, the versatile Italian most likely won’t be used by the manager this weekend either.

Lucas Paqueta and Theo Hernandez are both suspended for this game, having received too many yellow cards. For the Rossoneri, of course, this is a blow as especially the latter has been crucial as of late.

Goalkeepers: Donnarumma A., Donnarumma G., Reina.

Defenders: Calabria, Caldara, Conti, Gabbia, Musacchio, Rodríguez, Romagnoli.

Midfielders:Biglia, Bennacer, Bonaventura, Brescianini, Çalhanoğlu, Kessie, Krunić.

Forwards: Borini, Castillejo, Leão, Piątek, Rebić, Suso.
