Official: Pioli names 23-man squad for Samp vs. Milan – Florenzi included; Conti out

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will start their season today away at Sampdoria and the goal, of course, is to bring the three points back to Milan. This morning, Stefano Pioli announced his 23-man squad for the clash.

Alessandro Florenzi, who was announced by the club on Saturday, is included in the squad despite making just two training sessions with the team. Perhaps he will get a few minutes off the bench, depending on the events of the game.

It’s worth noting that Andrea Conti isn’t included in the squad, most likely because he’s expected to leave the club this summer. The likes of Genoa and, fittingly enough, Sampdoria have shown their interest in him.

GOALKEEPERS
Maignan, Plizzari, Tătărușanu.

DEFENDERS
Ballo-Touré, Calabria, Florenzi, Gabbia, Hernández, Kalulu, Kjær, Romagnoli, Tomori.

MIDFIELDERS
Bennacer, Castillejo, Díaz, Krunić, Pobega, Saelemaekers, Tonali.

FORWARDS
Giroud, Leão, Maldini, Rebić.

The rest of the squad is exactly what you would expect, though, as Ismael Bennacer is included and could perhaps get some minutes off the bench. It will be Rade Krunic from start this evening, therefore.

  1. Why krunic and not Pobega? Pioli should stop his sentimental choices, krunic is too average to complement Tonali, who hasn’t really been worth his pay since he arrived Milan.
All the best in today’s game though.
    Forza Milan

  2. Sincerely apologize but seriously, i don’t see my lovely ROSSONERI♠♥doing well this season. We need to bring in more good signings like every other top teams are doing, because we have lots of competition this season. Still wondering why we sold Hakan C. to our rival when we surely know ,we dont have someone of his quality in the team damn.. Ac Milan managerial policy are quite weird sometime.
