Official: AC Milan vs. Genoa starting XIs – Kessie in as Brahim Diaz drops to the bench

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has named just one change to his starting line-up from the team that drew 0-0 with Torino on Sunday night.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Samu Castillejo and Alessio Romagnoli join Simon Kjaer and Alessandro Florenzi as being unavailable for the game. Pioli has opted for a defence of Mike Maignan in goal with Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez ahead of him.

Ismael Bennacer is back from the muscle fatigue that kept him out of the game against the Granata last weekend and he will come back into the double pivot alongside Sandro Tonali, with Franck Kessie pushing up to be the attacking midfielder.

Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud will be hoping to build on their tally of eight league goals for the season while Alexis Saelemaekers has been chosen over Junior Messias on the right side in.

Update: Gabbia will start due to an injury for Calabria.
