Official: AC Milan announce Tatarusanu has recovered from Covid and will return to training

By Oliver Fisher -

Some more good news has emerged from the latest round of tests as goalkeeper Ciprian Tătărușanu is now testing negative for Covid-19.

As the club’s official website reports, the Romanian goalkeeper is no longer positive to the virus meaning he has recovered and will return to training with his team-mates today ahead of tomorrow night’s Coppa Italia round of 16 clash against Genoa at San Siro.

Whether this means he will play or not remains to be seen, because reports yesterday were suggesting that Antonio Mirante might get the start over Mike Maignan, showing that Stefano Pioli is at least slightly inclined to give the Frenchman some rest.

Tatarusanu established himself as the main back-up to Maignan even after the arrival of Mirante, given that he started every game when the former Lille man was out after undergoing surgery on a wrist injury, and he could therefore be back in action tomorrow.
