Official: Torino vs. AC Milan starting XIs – four changes from Lazio defeat

AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has named his starting line-up for the game against Torino away from home tonight.

Milan tasted defeat for just the second time this season as they lost 1-0 Lazio on Thursday in the Coppa Italia, in the round of 16 phase. They remain 12 games unbeaten in the league, but have won just once in their last dozen away league games against Torino.

Christian Pulisic has been battling a fever, but he travelled to meet up with the squad on Monday after recovering overnight and has made the bench. Youssouf Fofana, Zachary Athekame and Santiago Gimenez are out though due to various physical issues.

Allegri will serve a suspension tonight after his red card in the Serie A win over Lazio last weekend. He has named a defence of Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic in front of Mike Maignan, with Alexis Saelemaekers and Davide Bartesaghi as the wing-backs.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot are the trio in the middle of the park, while Christopher Nkunku will partner Rafael Leao up front. Once again, the bench will look bare due to the injury issues.

Official Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Leao.

Bench: Torriani, Terracciano, De Winter, Odogu, Estupinan, Ricci, Jashari, Pulisic.

Official Torino XI (3-5-2): Israel; Tameze, Maripan, Coco; Lazaro, Anjorin, Asllani, Pedersen; Vlasic; Zapata, Che Adams.

Bench: Paleari, Popa, Masina, Ilkhan, Aboukhlal, Simeone, Dembelé, Casadei, Nkounkou, Ngone, Biraghi, Gineitis, Njie.

    1. Pretty much custom practice to have two goalkeepers on the bench, its more rare to not have two compared to one. It is a pre6ty slim bench though.

  1. Let Leao play from the left and you will see goals but immediately you move him to the centre as a top striker forget goals but goal.
We all fell in love with Leao because he was dangerous from the left flank not as a standing striker

  2. Good to see RLC playing his natural position, he needs to put in a performance.
Between Fofana,Ricci, Jashari and RLC he is the only one who is actually a mezzala, if a very inconsistent one

  3. Only missing Puli really. I think Nkunku can cause problems against Torino. Get some confidence going as well if he does well.
    Let’s go boys!

  4. Could be a tricky match but at least on paper a match we should win and even more so considering that all results but one this weekend went in our favor.

    1. I’m not looking forward to this – Torino are super physical and we haven’t done well at this ground in recent years – that said they’ve been awful in the league but that doesn’t seem to stop us from scre wing up against these teams…

      1. Yeah I get you but I also easily get a bit apprehensive before all Milan matches. On the bright side didn’t we beat them 7-1 a few years back 😀 I cant remember if it was an away match though.

          1. Yeah I think so too.
Tommorri that idiot, Maignan almost a hero again. What a sh1t start but at least it might become a wakeup call so better early than late.

          2. At least its early on but 0-2 down is gonna be a tough nut to crack and I currently doesn’t have much hope for that to happen. Will grab myself a cigarette and hope things has changed for the better when I return.

  5. The wheels had to come off sooner or later. Can’t play garbage football hoping to nick a 1-0 result every game.

    1. 😂😂😂GOAT frontline duo right there. Up along with Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, Sheva and Pippo, Raul and Ronaldo

  6. Leao with the adductor injury it seems. Oh well that’s that. There goes my optimism. Let’s hope it’s minor and can recover fast. Hate taking those shots on a cold night. So easy to pull something
Time to experiment and put RLC up top. Or Rabiot who seems can shoot

  7. Watching loftus is so comical. I burst out laughing when he lost the ball with his run. Why is he in this team…

  8. Not all is lost here the match is still up for grabs, hopefully a quick goal for us will turn the table and frustrate torino, We also had some chances and Nkunku really should have shown some killer instinct and at least taken the shot. Rabiot wasn’t exactly lucky either even though it wasn’t an easy attempt he probably should have at least kept it in between the posts,
3-2 for Milan is my hope for now.

      1. He always has been a dangerous attacker. He has almost been out for a year and only returned in October but if he can stay fit I’m ok with him til the summer or 2027 if we also got for example Vlahovic or Lewandowski then.

        1. Yeah he’s 34 now.
For all the time he has been in serie A he has been good and caused us problems. All the while we were in need of a striker

          1. I wouldn’t oppose the idea but I would still not oppose the idea of Berardi who also is more versatile, both in the short length backups though unless they exceed all expectations. Come summer though I expect either Vlahovic or Lewandowski or something in the vein of them and its not Mateta if I may have a say,

  9. Unbelievable and believable at the same time!!! Captain Fantastic, Captain America!! Adda boy Puli ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

    1. This is how it should be every game. The inverse of what we did tonight.

      4-3-3:
      Mike
      Salad-Gabbia-Pavlovic-Bartesagh
      RLC or Jashari or Fofana-Modric-Rabiot
      Pulisic-Gimenez or Nkunku-Leao

and THEN park the bus with a 3-5-2 when we’re winning 2-0.

  10. Hahahaha 3-2

On a side note I guess today its political correct to say death to Israel considering Torinos goalkeepers surname 😛
