Official: Yacine Adli joins Fiorentina on loan with option to buy deal

Fiorentina have officially announced the signing of Yacine Adli from AC Milan on what will be an initial season-long loan deal.

A statement on Fiorentina’s official website has now confirmed that Adli has signed for La Viola on a loan deal which includes an option for them to make it permanent in the 2025 summer transfer window.

Adli was born in Vitry-sur-Seine, France, on July 29, 2000. He came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain, debuting for the club in Ligue 1 back in 2018.

The 24-year-old also played 104 times for Bordeaux and last season featured 33 times for Milan, in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Champions League and the Europa League, scoring once.

Adli will wear shirt number 29 at his new club and he could actually face Milan on October 6 when Paulo Fonseca’s side make the trip to Florence for the meeting at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

According to MilanNews among other sources, Fiorentina will pay a loan fee of €2m to have Adli for the season, and the figure for the option to buy is around €10m.

Milan tried to make it an obligation to buy meaning they would have had guaranteed income, but in the end they agreed to it being an option.

  1. Well… good luck, Adli. The guy is certainly a technically gifted player, but also a bit sluggish, and it seems that the management doesn’t want him at all… so, better indeed to negotiate him.

  2. I hope he gets to play in Fiorentina.
When it comes to options vs obligation, having an obligation doesn’t guarantee that the team will buy the player. The obligations are accompanied by certain incentives that need to be met for the team to have to buy the player. Minutes or games played.
Bakayoko was on a 2 year loan at Milan with obligation to buy if he played 15 or 20 games in a season. After they realized that he isn’t a fit for Pioli, Milan refused to play him just so they don’t have to activate his obligations to buy and he spent 2 years on the bench watching games like the rest of us while making more money than Kessie.
If Adli plays well Fiorentina will buy him even if he is on loan with just an option. If Adli doesn’t play well they won’t buy him even if he was on loan with obligation.

  3. say what you wish about the kid, but you cant question his work and desire to contribute. he could have done better in a 4-3-3. Best of luck kid, he’s got talent, Maybe Fiorentina can exploit it more.

  4. So upset we let go of Chiesa. Dont know how we didnt make that deal for 15 million.

If he returns to form. We will look like idiots.

    1. Italian football is strange lately. 15m for Chiesa is a steal but I don’t know how we didn’t jump at the opportunity. It can’t be a lack of cash; maybe the space in the squad as I’m sure we’ll need to let some players go for new ones to come in. Other than that, it’s baffling we didn’t try to get him.

  5. Yeah it also irritates me a lot that we didn’t go for him when he was actually available for such small a fee.
Only transfer as of yet I have been really excited about us signing has been Pavlovic but adding Chiesa would at least have been a statement signing for me.
To all of those who says he is trash let me ask you a rhetorical question why did clubs like Barcelona and Liverpool then want to sign him if he is such a lousy player.

    1. Because he is cheap and represents low risk/high reward option for them. He isn’t going at either club to be a starter or play a major role. Both barca and Liverpool have better players than him in his role. The man had to reduce his salary that he had at Juventus to go to a club and a league where everyone goes for higher salary.
Most likely he will be available again for a cheap transfer or even a loan next summer.

      1. Which is exactly what Milan claims to want.

Cheap and low risk high reward.

Imagine the RW position if they lose Chuk. Or the LW if they lose Leao.

Chiesa would have been the PERFECT signing. Not to mention he is Italian.

        1. Milan has 2 players for each wing and for now still have Saelemaekers. Milan also has young players in their youth team and u23 coming up playing in Chiesa role. Sia, scotti, chaka Traore, Cuenca, even Alex Jimenez who is very similar player to Chiesa, wingback/winger. Chiesa at Fiorentina played as a wingback alot.
Milan has no need for Chiesa. Are they supposed to buy him just because he is available?

          1. Ok then lets just find some random wingers or players for every position in general if it doesent mater if the player is Chiesa or Traore that is top player or Seria C quality. The comments here are getting dumber and dumber for real.

      2. Asking a rhetorical question isn’t really a question looking for answers but Phildadon1899 actually came with a pretty good answer to you.
Well hopefully we will bring him in later then but he could really be a valuable player for us at present and I doesn’t really expect us to field any 17 year old players currently.

    2. What a wasted opportunity. We need a player who can take our team to a different level, like him. But glad to see he didn’t go to Inter.

    3. Martin, we have ZERO need for him with positions covered and a salary we don’t want.

Who does he displace? Is he even a winger still? Not after that ACL. SO he’s not a winger, he’s not a striker… What is he … ?

      1. In my view we do, as I would field Pulisic centrally as a cam and then i would field Chiesa/Chuk on the right and in the event Leao gets injured we can field Chiesa on the left. If we swap away Saelemaekers we could use him even more than now as well so i disagree. Even if he hasnt played much as a cam he might actually work there as well but in the end its just a matter of opinion but I’m disapointed that the management didn’t get him while we actually could afford him.

  6. Yes. They are. Comparing a healthy Chiesa to anyone on this Milan team is laughable. Look at what he did in the Euros when he was motivated and healthy. He took over entire matches.

    1. Healthy Chiesa? That’s a big question mark.
What game did he take over at the Euro?
Are you talking about Euro 2021 or 2024?
Nobody cares about what happened 3,4 years ago. He isn’t that player anymore. If he was Juventus would have kept him and Liverpool and Barca would have tried to sign him way earlier in the window when he was available for the same fee. He also wouldn’t have to lower his salary if he was still the same player.
Chiesa isn’t better than Leao nor Pulisic. He is on tge same level as Chuk and Okafor..I don’t know what’s laughable.

  7. Hope Adli gets his chance in Fiorentina and becomes a top player. Hard working guy, deserves the best. To bad this clowns never gave him the chance.

  8. It is good to sell him, great to fiorentina, but why again options buy and not obligation…next summer we will be like chelsea when Kalulu, Adli and Pobega come back to Milanelo
