Right at the very end of the summer window, Youssouf Fofana finally found a solution, heading to Sevilla on loan.
Fofana was the story of deadline day and for unfortunate reasons. It emerged on Monday night that Lyon had accelerated and were close to bringing the midfielder back to Ligue 1, but then some snags arose regarding the salary split.

Hull City and Besiktas were mentioned as potential suitors in the final hours, until the ‘here we go’ came from Fabrizio Romano, with Lyon thinking they had finally done all they needed to do. Yet, the French football finance watchdog blocked them from registering him, as they hadn’t sold Malick Fofana.
Fofana heads to Spain
So, it seemed as though the former Monaco man was destined for at least a few months on the sidelines. That is until Sevilla made a late approach, and it is the LaLiga side that landed him just before the gong sounded.
A statement on Sevilla’s website reads: “Sevilla FC and AC Milan have reached an agreement for the loan, without an option to buy, of Youssouf Fofana. Born in Paris in 1999 (27 years old), Fofana plays as a defensive midfielder.

“He made his Ligue 1 debut with RC Strasbourg in the 2018/19 season, playing 17 matches, scoring two goals, and providing one assist. He remained at Strasbourg until the 2019/20 season, playing a total of 41 matches, including UEFA Europa League qualifiers.”
Milan meanwhile posted the following: “AC Milan can confirm that Youssouf Fofana has joined Sevilla FC on loan until 30 June 2027. The Club would like to thank Youssouf for his professionalism and dedication that he has shown and wish him al the best for the upcoming season.”
I am afraid to even ask- free loan and not even a right to buy? 🤗
I think the salary is covered and thats not a small thing. He needs place to play so he can be more affordable from July 2027

No one can prepare properly, no one is satisfied. So there are some players who, if they stay, won’t be part of the team.”

Btw we did try to sign inacio but according to kush sporting pulled out on deadline day and instead of signing tiago gabriel and finishing the defence they left it so hopefully they get it done in january so im guessing this is the squad they are going for in january
