Okafor discusses first months in Milano and explains admiration for Kaka

By Isak Möller -

Noah Okafor arrived at AC Milan in the summer and it’s been a decent start for the Swiss international. In a recent interview, he was asked about life in Milano and why he admires the Rossoneri legend Kaka so much.

In the summer, Milan signed Okafor for a fee of €14m from RB Salzburg. The deal materialized quickly and caught most Rossoneri fans by surprise, especially given the low price tag. The forward has scored two goals in 13 appearances so far, meaning there are still things to work on.

Speaking to the magazine NSS Sports, Okafor opened up about his first months at the club and his impressions of Milano. The 23-year-old was also asked about the club legend Kaka, who was his idol growing up.

On Milano…

“I’ve only been in Milan for a few months, I wouldn’t be honest if I said I already know the city completely. I’m still not an insider. I think Milan is a city that exudes great energy. It is full of surprises and when I walk through the streets I always discover little hidden places, courtyards where you would not expect to find so much beauty.

“Before I arrived, I did some Google searches and got to know Milano. Somewhere I read something that stuck in my mind: Milano is the place where ideas become reality. I like this description. I hope and believe that my ideas can also come to life here.”

On Kaka…

“Kakà was not just a footballer to me. The way he moved on the field was simply beautiful. His goals were never just goals; each one was a small piece of art. It’s a great honour for me to be playing for the same club now.”

Due to the suspension of Olivier Giroud, Okafor will likely get the chance from start against Fiorentina. It’s a crucial game for Milan, following just two points in four games, and the Swiss international will have to be at his best.
