AC Milan forward Noah Okafor stated that he is happy with his goal against Lazio but ‘even happier for the three points’ in front of the fans at San Siro.
Milan made it three wins in a row in Serie A on Saturday evening with a 2-0 victory against Lazio. Christian Pulisic got the first goal just before the hour mark as he fired home a Rafael Leao cut-back, then it was Okafor’s turn to bury a feed from the Portuguese winger in the closing stages.
In truth Maurizio Sarri’s side rarely threatened as Milan controlled the game, and the win – plus another vital clean sheet – moves Milan three points clear at the top while waiting for Inter to play Salernitana in the late kick-off.
Okafor spoke to DAZN after the game to analyse what was another positive night for the team and for him personally with his second goal for the club. His comments were relayed by MilanNews.
You’ve scored in two games in a row, is this just the beginning?
“I’m a Milan fan, I’m happy to be here and feel good. I work hard and I’m very happy with my goal and even happier with the three points.”
What role do you feel most comfortable in?
“The important thing is to help the team as much as possible. At Salzburg we played with two strikers, I can play there or on the left wing, these are my favourite positions. I feel comfortable there, I want to grow further by working day after day. I’m really happy to be here.”
What is your first impression of Serie A?
“It’s the first time I’ve played in one of the top five European leagues. It’s a good league, you play against good teams. I focus on myself and the team, we have to work hard to always look for the three points.”
Something that Rebic or Origi couldn’t do: find themselves in open space, and run fast.
Okafor can be excellent CF, no matter about wing speech.
Very nice player. There’s still more room for improvement and to understand the team’s tactics more
