Ole: Boca Juniors ace expected to leave – Milan and Man Utd eye €20m clause

By Oliver Fisher -

In recent days reports in Italy have claimed that AC Milan are interested in Aaron Anselmino, and now a source in Argentina has confirmed the news.

According to Ole, Anselmino has been followed for a while closely by the scouts of several big clubs in Europe, but the player has publicly declared a desire to stay with Boca Juniors and fight for the title.

Of course, sometimes a player’s desire, like Anselmino in this case, collides with the persistent interest of the clubs that have him on their radar, with Manchester United and Milan ‘willing to sign him’ having scouted the teenager.

As Olé writes, what in principle was a enquiry can now be transformed into something ‘firmer and more concrete’ with negotiations that can now effectively lead to an offer for the young defender.

Boca took precautions to protect the 18-year-old centre-back having seen Valentín Barco leave for Brighton after they paid his €10m release clause. The club gave Anselmino a €20m clause, which might still be tempting.

With just seven games in Boca’s Primera and only four as a starter, the central defender already seems to be the next jewel who will leave for Europe through a sale and a possible offer could be forthcoming soon.

  1. Neither club are going to pay €20 million on a defender no one has heard of from the Argentinean league. You really don’t understand the transfer market at all.
