GdS: Another opportunity presents itself to Origi as Pioli discovers ideal situation

Divock Origi should be given his second start for AC Milan on Sunday night against Torino and he is itching to build on his first goal.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Origi should be the man who leads the line for Milan in their trip to face Ivan Juric’s Torino, just like he did against Monza when he finally broke his duck with a rocket into the top corner in the second half.

Olivier Giroud was the starter in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb and he scored a penalty, but given that there is not long between games at the moment Origi is favoured for a starting place in Turin.

This is ultimately the scenario that Pioli wanted: two healthy centre-forwards who can both contribute and can be rotated to keep the other at 100%, a situation that will improve further in 2023 when Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes his long-awaited return.
