Opta: Donnarumma to smash Buffon’s record with important milestone in Milan-Inter

Gigio Donnarumma is one of the biggest talents in the world and at the age of just 21, he has made 232 appearances for Milan. In the derby on Sunday, he will reach yet another important milestone in his impressive career.

The goalkeeper, bar any surprises, will play from start against Inter and he will be a very important player for Milan. As highlighted by Opta (via SempreMilan), it won’t just be a special game because it’s the Derby Della Madonnina.

In addition to that aspect, in fact, Donnarumma will make his 200th Serie A appearance and thus become the youngest player to reach that milestone in the three-point era. So who holds the record currently? Gianluigi Buffon.

The Juventus goalkeeper made his 200th appearance when he was 24 years and 83 days old, while Donnarumma will smash his record by coming in at 21 years and 361 days. An important and special day for Gigio, in other words.
