Opta: Hernandez reached more than one milestone against Atalanta – the details

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez made headlines against Atalanta because it was his 200th game for the club, but that was not the only interesting statistic for the Frenchman to come from the match.

As was reported by Opta after the match (via Milan News), the French defender became the third defender to score at least 20 goals and get at least 20 assists in the past five seasons in Europe’s top five leagues.

He is renowned for being one of the best attacking full-backs in the world and that is evidenced by this fact.

He got the assist for Rafael Leao’s opening goal of the game and that now means that he has got 26 goals and 20 assists in the past five seasons.

The other two players who have reached the same landmark are Achraf Hakimi, who did so at Inter and Paris Saint-Germain, and Raphael Guerreiro who has done it at Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Another reason for Hernandez to be in the headlines right now is the interest that Bayern Munich have shown in him, as they think he would be the ideal replacement for Alphonso Davies who could be on his way to Real Madrid if a new contract is not agreed on.

  1. I think adli should play on a more regular basis. He shows strong commitment, good positional play, is always unruffled and an engine in midfield. Ok – at times he makes mistakes but …. who doesn’t!!!!
