Ordine criticises Pioli for injury struggles: “He must have the courage”

Franco Ordine has criticised Stefano Pioli for how he has handled the injury crisis at AC Milan. Despite most of them being muscular, the manager hasn’t taken enough responsibility, refusing to properly evaluate his staff.

Milan have had a whopping 24 injuries since the start of the season and a good majority of them have been muscular. The fans, as well as media outlets, have thus questioned Pioli and his staff members for the very serious struggles.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Sunday that Pioli is unwilling to part ways with any of his staff members. A stance that the journalist Franco Ordine believes the manager must reconsider, otherwise he will continue to lack accountability.

“The original sin is the injury struggles. As long as Milan had a normal amount of absences, they were first in the league standings. Pioli claims that it can’t just be bad luck, but he’s chief of staff and thus must take responsibility. Who should we hold to account if not?

“Pioli must have the courage to admit that in his staff, there is someone who has made a mistake and that person must be replaced,” he stated as cited by MilanNews.

In addition to the injuries, Olivier Giroud has been suspended for two games and will thus be unavailable against Fiorentina and Frosinone. The games after the international break will be very interesting indeed, as Milan are in desperate need of a positive turnaround.
