Ordine highly critical of Milan: “Inexperience, naivety, inadequate squad and lack of character”

Journalist Franco Ordine has provided a frank assessment of where he believes AC Milan’s squad to be, and it is certainly not Scudetto-level.

Milan went into Saturday’s game against Parma full of confidence as they sat one point off top spot and had just beaten Roma in a six-pointer in the round prior. However, they once again dropped points against a side fighting just to stay in the division.

Everything was going so well at the Stadio Ennio Tardini after 30 minutes with Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao having put the Rossoneri 2-0 up. However, goals from Bernabe and Delprato got Parma back level, then Milan missed huge late chances to win it.

Ordine: Milan way off Scudetto level

During his usual weekly column for Il Giornale, Ordine published a piece that is certainly not very positive about Milan’s chances of going for the title, with his words relayed by Radio Rossonera.

The piece starts off: “Milan, the harsh truth: they are not equipped to participate in the Scudetto race. Inexperience, naivety, an inadequate squad and a lack of character: a winning club is not like that.

In supporting his testimony, the journalist wanted to highlight and reflect on the individual errors that are costing the team points: “Estupinan’s naivety towards the end of the first half to get the first response.”

He added: “If you then turn the spotlight on Fofana, it’s easy to sum up his performances as equally dissatisfying. Finally, a third sub-par outing from Christopher Nkunku: “After an hour of play, he made way for Loftus Cheek with zero regrets, a sign of a very modest contribution to the cause”.

Ordine wanted to clarify another aspect that didn’t convince him too much: “There’s also a common denominator to highlight, which is psychological in nature and concerns the group’s personality. To stay at the top of the league, you need to be able to count on a team that isn’t afraid to brave the storm at key moments in matches.”
