Ordine states Genoa-Milan may now be played on Monday evening: “To safeguard contemporaneity”

The fixture this weekend between Genoa and AC Milan has been a topic of heavy conversation and it appears that it is going to continue that way.

As we get to the decisive weeks of the Champions League race, Lega Serie A are trying to increase the drama of the game weeks and so the fixtures involving these teams have been organised at the same time.

In this way, each goal matters at the same time. However, it takes a lot of work to make it happen. What makes things more difficult is the fact that there is a Derby della Capitale also scheduled this weekend, which is dictating where Milan’s fixture goes.

Genoa-Milan potentially moved…

The latest report from ANSA (via MilanNews) states that this fixture is now set to be moved and will be played on Monday at 20:45 CET. Since then, Franco Ordine has stated that this would affect the Rossoneri.

“The Serie A League is appealing to the TAR against the decision of the Prefect of Rome to move the Rome derby to Monday evening, thus forcing – in order to safeguard contemporaneity – the other 4 matches involved in the race for the Champions League to be played at the same time on Monday evening.”

It is all a bit messy, but is it ever not with Serie A?
