CM: Origi and Rebic in the firing line as Milan line up sales to help replenish attack

By Oliver Fisher -

The current plan for the AC Milan management is to sell two struggling forwards in order to fund a move for a new striker, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have the signing of a new centre-forward as one of their main tasks prior to the summer transfer window with Noah Okafor of Red Bull Salzburg still a transfer target.

However, they also have a plan to raise funds for a purchase and that involves the sales of Ante Rebic and Divock Origi, which they believe could bring in some important money to put towards a No.9 for the future.

Rebic has had another frustrating season of battling injuries and struggling for consistency general after his brace in the opening game of the campaign against Udinese, while Origi only joined from Liverpool in the summer but has netted only twice, and the fact he arrived on a free means any sale would generate a capital gain.

    1. Calm down, Salzburg can sell Okafor for double that if they want to. And good luck convincing anyone to pay that for Rebic or Origi bearing in mind their current form and very high salaries. Maybe you could get an English club interested in picking up Origi for that if lucky.

  1. It is the only logical move. I don’t see them having a future in Milan given their form and fitness issues. 20 million for both would be very good.

  2. Rebic already injury prone last season & this season . I dont think any club willing to pay 20m euro for rebic, the best AC Milan can get only 5-8m euro from Rebic and 5-7m euro for origi. Thats cannot even fund okafor transfer fee
