Osimhen expected to miss Milan clash with Napoli after hamstring injury

By Euan Burns -

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is expected to miss the Serie A match against AC Milan after suffering a hamstring injury whilst playing for Nigeria.

Napoli released an official statement on Monday afternoon which confirmed that Osimhen has suffered a ‘grade 2 right hamstring injury’ which was uncovered when he underwent a scan at the club on Monday.

They do not offer a specific timeframe for his return to action but given it is less than two weeks before Milan travel to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to face the Serie A champions, it is assumed that he cannot recover in time.

Osimhen has started undergoing treatment at the Konami Training Centre and Rudi Garcia will be looking to have his star player back in the fray again as soon as possible.

It is a boost for Milan considering the undoubted quality that Osimhen holds. Giacomo Raspadori or Giovanni Simeone will replace him in attack.

  1. Well they better sell him while he’s still going to bring them some value. Better the injury than having declining form on the field on purpose due to the monumental f**k up Napoli did a week or so ago in coconut-gate.

      1. Their own people too smh. I cannot understand or fathom what they were thinking. Calling your own played stupid ???? Who does that????? The guy that won them their Scudetto in how many years now smh. Unbelievable

  2. Garcia can’t figure it out. All he had to do was copy & paste. Now there’s uncertainty about the coaching role which leaves everything on limbo.

    Nice going, ADL.
