CF: The overall cost of the Milan squad has dropped over the summer

The overall cost of the AC Milan squad has dropped this summer after a fairly busy transfer window for the Rossoneri, a report claims.

The football website that is focused on the financial side of the game, Calcio e Finanza, has looked at the gross wages when paid by Milan along with the amortisation or loan cost of each individual player.

In total, they have deduced that Stefano Pioli’s current squad is costing them around €22m less than it was at the start of the 2021/22 season.

They say that the club’s squad is costing around €128m this year barring any changes in the January transfer window. That is down from the €150m last season.

This is mainly down to the departure of players such as Franck Kessie, Alessio Romagnoli and Samu Castillejo who were a significant part of the overall value. The three together weighed in at €30m combined and are all now gone.
