Paolo Maldini thanks fans for their support after testing positive for COVID-19 – video

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini has thanks people for the support they have shown he and his son Daniel after they tested positive for COVID-19.

The pandemic continues to sweep across Italy and the rest of the world, and over the weekend it was announced that the former Rossoneri captain – as well as the current Milan forward – had both been inflicted by the Coronavirus.

There has been an outpouring of support on social media, and Paolo took to Instagram to thank people for their messages of support and thanked those who are committed to fighting the virus.

“With this video I wanted to thank all those people who sent their love through social media, through messages and also their concern for my son and my health,” he said.

“We are fine, we should be able to eradicate this virus within a week. Thanks for your affection that really never fails. But I wanted to thank all those doctors, nurses, health workers, civil protection, law enforcement officers who are facing this emergency with the utmost professionalism and enormous courage. Once again you make us feel proud to be Italian. Thanks again.”
