Paper Talk: Milan ready to pounce for Aubameyang; Abate to wear sports glasses

By Isak Möller -

In today’s Italian papers, reports suggest that Milan are ready to pounce for Aubameyang once the Chinese transfer market closes, while Ignazio Abate will return to the pitch tonight with sports glasses.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport

Gigio Donnarumma could sign his new four-year contract with today (or tomorrow). He will earn €6m per year and a release clause valued at €70m will be included. Raiola will get a percentage of a future sale if a team offers more than €70m.

Yesterday, one of Aubameyang’s representatives flew to China to talk with Tianjin Quanjin, who are very interested in the Gabonese striker. In fact, they have offered Aubameyang €30m per year but Aubameyang himself would like to stay in Europe. Moreover, the Chinese side would have to conclude the deal before Friday, which is the day when the Chinese transfer market closes.

Lucas Biglia’s agent will be in Milan today to most likely meet with AC Milan. Biglia will also meet with Lazio’s sporting director today. The Argentinian’s move to Milan could soon be unlocked.

Antonio and Gigio Donnarumma could sign their contracts at the same time, most likely on Wednesday, but it’s possible that it’ll happen on Thursday.

Hakan Calhanoglu will most likely wear number 10 at Milan, which was worn by Keisuke Honda last season.

Likely AC Milan XI vs. Lugano (friendly game):

Storari; Abate, Musacchio, Zapata, Rodriguez; Kessie, Montolivo, Calhanoglu; Borini, Bacca, Bonaventura.

Corriere Della Sera

AC Milan remain firm on their €14m offer for Lucas Biglia, while Lazio continue to ask for €20m. There is, obviously, still a big distance between demand and offer.

Donnarumma will arrive in Milan tonight, after spending some time at Ibiza. He will sign a four-year deal worth €6m per year.

Tuttosport

The negotiations between Juventus and AC Milan regarding De Sciglio could accelerate in the coming weeks, as both teams are ready to sit down and reach an agreement. De Sciglio will not renew his contract with the Rossoneri, who are asking for €15m.

Vincenzo Montella will most likely continue to use the 4-3-3 formation this upcoming season. Today, against Lugano, he will test it with the new players. Likely XI tonight:

Storari; Abate, Musacchio, Zapata, Rodriguez; Kessie, Montolivo, Calhanoglu; Borini, Bacca, Bonaventura.

La Repubblica

Ignazio Abate will finally return to action tonight, after an eye injury he suffered in February that stopped him from playing the rest of the season. He will wear protective glasses, very similar to those of Edgar Davids, although the reasons are different. Abate must keep his eye from getting hit by the ball and other traumas.

Il Giornale

Gigio Donnarumma will sign his new contract with AC Milan tomorrow. It’s a four-year deal worth €6m per year.

  1. We must not in any case sign too costly players like Kalinic, Bonucci and Aubameyang! Instead we need another central defender who i hope will be Lazio”s Stefan De Vriej! We also need badly a new holding midfielder, and if we don”t get Biglia on a chaeper fee, then i really hope that we can sign either Casemiro or Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid! And as far as strikers are consern, we should try really hard to sign Celtic”s rising star striker Moussa Dembele!
