Papin says Kalulu has ‘amazed me the most’ amid impressive growth at Milan

Pierre Kalulu will be called into action this evening as Alessio Romagnoli will miss Napoli-Milan due to an injury. Based on the derby, though, the Rossoneri don’t need to be worried and the youngster has received a lot of praise.

The latest person to praise the former Lyon defender is the former Milan striker Jean-Pierre Papin. He made 63 appearances for the Rossoneri and found the back of the net an impressive 31 times, winning two Scudetti, one Champions League and one Supercoppa with the club.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport ahead of tonight’s clash, as cited by MilanLive, Papin shared his thoughts on the French players at Milan. He revealed that Kalulu is the one that has amazed him the most.

“Kalulu is who has amazed me the most, in two years he has grown a lot, I didn’t expect to see him so ready this early at these levels,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Kalulu will put in yet another good performance this evening. As said, he did really well off the bench against Inter and it’s clear that he has grown a lot since joining the club in 2020.
