Paqueta reflects on his ‘apprenticeship’ at Milan and highlights how he has grown since

Lucas Paqueta has admitted that he has grown a lot since his experience at AC Milan, which he has described as an ‘apprenticeship’ period for him.

Paqueta joined the Rossoneri in the winter market of the 2018-19 season and there was certainly great excitement surrounding his arrival, but it would be fair to say that his performances were nowhere near up to the level of those expected, though he did play in a turbulent period.

His time in Italy was cut short having only one goal and two assists in 37 Serie A appearances as the Milan management made the decision to sell him to Lyon. He is thriving for the Ligue 1 club having racked up 8 goal contributions in 14 games across the league and Europa League this season.

Paquetà spoke during a press conference about his past with the Rossoneri and how it has helped him grow into the player he is today, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews.

“I am a player who has always worked a lot. Milan served as an apprenticeship for me. After this experience, I grew humanly. Here I found friends, a new group, the love of the fans. I found confidence, I am a serene man. I get goosebumps to be at the stadium and feel this passion. And I think they love me because I always give 100%,” he said.
