Lucas Paqueta has described his spell at AC Milan as ‘useful’ as he continues to go from strength to strength with Lyon and the Brazilian national team.
Paqueta joined the Rossoneri in the winter market of the 2018-19 season and there was certainly great excitement surrounding his arrival, but it would be fair to say that his performances were nowhere near up to the level of those expected, though he did play in a turbulent period.
Since he left for a fresh start in Ligue 1 with Lyon he has certainly got his mojo back from his time at Flamengo, having racked up 17 appearances, 6 goals and 3 assists this season, forming part of a talented midfield department which includes the likes of Bruno Guimarães and Houssem Aouar.
At a press conference with the Brazilian national team, Paquetà admitted that his time at Milan was an important chapter in his career, which allowed him to grow further and become the player he is now.
“They are two similar leagues, but I agree that Ligue 1 is physically stronger than Serie A. Considering what I am going through now, it is clear that every past experience has been useful,” he said (via MilanLive).
“The time I spent in Italy, at Milan, made me a stronger player and a better person. It has given me more experience to face adversity in a different way. Today, thank God I’m having a good time. In every place you learn something and now I am happy.”
