Fabio Paratici is now very close to becoming AC Milan’s new sporting director, and he dreams of bringing Pep Guardiola in as the new head coach.
According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), there was a crucial meeting in London between the Giorgio Furlani and Paratici yesterday. The CEO spoke with the former sporting director of Juventus and Tottenham, to plan the next season and redesign the management structure.
Paratici has not signed any contract yet: other meetings are scheduled and in general the Rossoneri club has taken time to think about the opportunity to hire him. However, the Italian is in pole position even if a full agreement has not been closed.
Milan cannot procrastinate too much because they are not the only club that wants him. The former Sampdoria chief has the opportunity to continue working for Tottenham, for whom he is now a consultant, and can also count on a couple of other offers from abroad.
During yesterday’s summit in London, the head coaching position was discussed. Sergio Conceiçao will almost certainly say goodbye even if he were to win the Coppa Italia therefore a replacement will be needed.
In Paratici’s mind there are a couple of ideas. One is Roberto De Zerbi, who came through the Rossoneri’s youth system and now has experience as a coach. Then, there is a second surprising name: Pep Guardiola, who for now is only a suggestion and a ‘dream’, but in the future who knows.
Manchester City are expected to hear the verdict on the 115 charges against them, and a substantial punishment could lead to big changes there, even if Guardiola is under contract with the Premier League club until 2027.
Finally, the choice of a ‘guarantee’ cannot be ruled out, i.e. a coach accustomed to winning immediately at a big club. The names are two: Antonio Conte, currently at Napoli, and Massimiliano Allegri.
all hail Paratici!!!
I don’t believe Guardiola will come to ACM or Italy, ever. The money are simply too small.
He can fo it for charity then. He has earned so much already 😉
Dream on ‼️
He never won at Italy, plus the Spanish coach never succeed in serie A
APRIL FOOLS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A bit late on that one apologies.
R I P AC MILAN R I P ITALIAN FOOTBALL.
#GET ELLIOT / REDBIRD OUT.
I hate to break it to you but Italian football died in 2007… at the hands of the FIGC and other Italians. Foreign ownerships which happen to be mostly American more than anyone else have invested in and revived the league to some degree.
Allegri and Guardiola… how are these two even mentioned in the same sentence?
Yeah Guardiola is leaving Man City for 9th placed Milan in Serie A.
Do you even have a straight face when you right this crap Ollie?
If he were to leave City he’d be the most in demand coach in world football.
So obviously ACM it is!!
FFS.
If they say Roberto De Zerbi, who is easier to hire and is a cheaper option, and Guardiola, as a big and unrealistic wish, it means that they want dominant football and the name Allegri cannot possibly be found there.
They don’t write it. It’s copy and paste from Google Translate from an article on MilanNews.it, and that site is paraphrasing Corriere della Sera.
Guardiola ?? Out of milans world bro. De Zerbi ? 90% possession football end up with lose. Milan need a result. The logical choice are 3: allegri, conte or stay with conceicao
Guardiola needs 1bn euros to construct a squad that will win domestic league and potentially compete for CL. Overrated and washed up. Up there with Mourinho nowadays.
That’s a hot take haha. Definitely exaggerated but slightly true 🤣
the only bigger joke than bringing in Guardiola is actually just bringing in the criminal Paratici who was convicted of embezzlement with Juventus, we are falling lower and lower
It wasn’t “embezzlement”. He wasn’t stealing funds or assets from Juventus. This was about plusvalenza, and every club in Italy basically practiced that. I’m not saying it is right, but it’s also kind of unreasonable to single him out for it. Juventus was simply the club the authorities decided to target, perhaps because they were the most flagrant, but again it was/is widely practiced.
For example, I was looking something up on Andrea Pirlo the other day, and I ran into this passage in his Wikipedia article:
“After three seasons on the Inter books, Pirlo was sold to rivals AC Milan for 33 billion Italian lire (€17,043,078)[35] on 30 June 2001, the last day of the 2000–01 financial year.[36] The transfer fee was partially funded by the movement of Dražen Brnčić in the opposite direction for an undisclosed fee. In the same window Inter swapped Cristian Brocchi (25 billion lire;[37] €12.9 million) for Guly (undisclosed fee; €8.537 million profit)[38] and Matteo Bogani for Paolo Ginestra. The deals were later reported by the Italian press to have been undertaken to create ‘false profit’ by inflating the players’ values in the transfer fees in the swap deal. The exchange involving Ginestra and Bogani created an approximate €3.5 million ‘profit’ for both clubs, but this actually manifested itself in terms of useless registration rights.”
I do think it’s an awkward situation, and I was initially against Paratici, but I’m warming up to the idea. He’s got a track record of success.
That’s pretty interesting actually. I’m lukewarm on paratici but still Sartori is the only candidate that is hands down better for rebuilding the squad.
I didn’t say he was the only one , i dont care about others since they are not associated with us ,i would call out everyone who was convicted, even maldini.
Guardiola? paratici must be high on something really strong!
Guardiola… LMAO!!!
must be a slow news day…
Guardiola…who knows. But if De Zerbi, its more make sense.
But, we have give him the players he want. So, he can build his own team.
No more signings based on Moncada’s list only, or super computer. So in the future no more news that, its not De Zerbi want to bring, or the players is not fit to De Zerbi tactics.
