Yesterday news broke from multiple sources that Fabio Paratici was all set to become AC Milan’s new sporting director, but things are not quite all done yet.

Before the Coppa Italia derby, the CEO Giorgio Furlani denied some of the stories circulating by stating that no decision has yet been made. According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), it is true that a verbal agreement has been reached, but we are not at the announcement stage.

Barring any sensational surprises, the Italian will be the new sporting director of the Rossoneri. When the signature will arrive, however, is currently unknown. We are now in the phase of drafting the contract, where a very important clause will be inserted.

Milan want to protect itself in the event of a criminal conviction of the former Juventus director in the Prisma investigation, and for this reason they want to include an exit clause in the contract, a sort of right of withdrawal.

This is a rather delicate point and for this reason it will take a bit of time for things to be made official. Paratici would also like to bring people he trusts with him, such as Lorenzo Giani, currently in charge of the scouting department at Sampdoria.

Paratici will have to make a very important decision immediately: who will be the head coach next season? A few days ago he met the agent of Roberto De Zerbi, suggesting that the Marseille boss is the No.1 target at present.

  1. Please mister get some special clause: no more MoneyBall Moncada and Ibrakadabra. Say it I want to have more Power.

  2. Is it just me or does it feel like everything we do has to be a saga? And not ‘just’ because of RedBird, it predates them. The endless stadium nonsense, The Li-Elliot mess, the whole “where is Redbirds money actually coming from” thing, the current board and who’s doing what role.

Even Players – Zirkzee, Fofana, Leao’s debt, the months of trying to sign Royal only to sell him, only for him to get injured in a match he shouldn’t have been playing.

Now we want to sign a DS where we have to hold our breath incase he gets convicted later in the year.

I know a lot of this is the media, but it isn’t this much of a rollercoaster at other clubs. Nothing goes smoothly!
