Parolo praises former manager Pioli but names one thing he must improve

By Isak Möller -

Since he joined AC Milan in October 2019, Stefano Pioli has done a tremendous job with this team and for the first time in ten years, they are fighting for the Scudetto. Even so, there are things he can improve.

The manager is the most successful one at Milan in the three-points-per-win era (since 1994/95), based on his average points per game. That says a lot considering that he arrived in a chaotic period for the club, turning things around.

Speaking to LazioStyleChannel, as cited by MilanNews, the former Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo shared his thoughts on Pioli. The latter was obviously his manager for two years at Lazio.

“I had an excellent relationship with Pioli, a very good manager capable of reading games well, also varying the game plan, leaving some of his playing principles firm. His only limitation, perhaps, was that of being a true leader in the locker room,” he stated.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of the season will be but it’s clear that the Scudetto dream still lives for Milan. They most likely need to win all of their remaining games, though, which isn’t an easy task. But you never know.
