Although he gave away a penalty, Strahinja Pavlovic will not be too frustrated after scoring one of the goals of the season for AC Milan against Torino.
This season, Pavlovic has established himself as one of the better forward-thinking defenders in Italy, perhaps even beyond that. Indeed, in the wider role that Allegri has conjured for him, the Serbian has looked superb.

Offensively, his game has come on massively, and he now looks like one of the biggest threats in the Milan team. However, he has also improved substantially defensively, maturing and picking his moments.
Pavlovic (and Fofana’s) Full-Time thoughts
His goal this evening started a wild 55 minutes of scoring, and he was unfortunate to be responsible for the last of the game, when he fouled Simeone in the box, giving away a penalty which was converted by Vlasic. At full-time, Pavlovic – albeit with a little help from his teammate – spoke to DAZN, as MilanNews relayed.
“Today I did everything, great goal, penalty… But today the MVP is from Fofana”.
On the goal:
“A great goal, but a lucky goal [he laughs]”.
Fofana intervenes: “In training, he shoots everywhere, so it’s not luck”.
On the penalty instead?
“I didn’t see Simeone. I had a big arm, but I didn’t see him. I don’t know what I can say. If the goal is lucky, then so is the penalty…”
Pav has been a standout at the back since he signed. If we could actually go out and sign a good experienced Center back like Kjaer to play next to him and gabbia, the defense would be incredibly solid for the future. De winter has some promise but clearly still very inexperienced. Tomori is just tomori, loses his man far too often, needs to be a backup. Getting in someone like a Laporte, Min-jae, Ruben Dias, or even JM Gimenez. Just someone more experienced thay can reign in pav in those moments hes a bit too loose, just like Kjaer did for tomori initially
I agree. He is a standout with by far the most mistakes leading to a goal. In fact he has more than the next 2 players together. Just yesterday he could have had a few more but Maignan and Simeone saved him. So only 1.
