‘A dream come true’ – Pavlovic reacts after sealing ‘incredible’ Milan move

By Oliver Fisher -

Strahinja Pavlovic has said his first words as an AC Milan player, recalling a game that he actually played against the Rossoneri in the Champions League the season before last.

On their official website, Milan stated this evening that they are pleased to announce the signing of Pavlović from Red Bull Salzburg. The Serbian defender has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028, with an option for an additional year.

As part of the announcement, Pavlovic’s first words arrived and he spoke of his delight to join such a history club and to return to San Siro as someone the fans will support this time.

“I’m happy and proud to be here, it’s an incredible feeling. It’s a dream come true. I remember when I played at San Siro two years ago, the atmosphere was incredible. I can’t wait to play here, but this time with the fans cheering for me!” he said.

He is of course referring to the Champions League meeting between RB Salzburg and Milan that took place at San Siro in the 2022-23 season, a game which the Rossoneri won 4-0 with goals from Olivier Giroud (x2), Rade Krunic and Junior Messias en route to a run to the semi-final stage.

  1. Correction: “en route to getting embarrassed by Inter merde in the semi-final stage.”

Fonzy – please make it stop.

  2. Looks like a big unit; ideal frame for a CB. CV suggests he’s a bit of a journeyman, but he’s still young, and hopefully ambitious. Let’s hope he becomes a rock for Milan…

  3. I think it will be very interesting to watch the beginning of the next season! A new coach with a new tactic and idea of the game, and several new players (I hope) from whom a lot is expected at the start. Pavlović is one of them. If Thiaw stays, we will have a concrete and healthy competition in the position of defender! Only if we consolidate the defense can we expect progress.
