Strahinja Pavlovic has expressed his frustration at how a lot of the goals that AC Milan have conceded this season have been in a similar manner following the 2-2 draw against Lazio.
Milan made the perfect start to the game in the capital as Pavlovic – making his second start for the club since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg – rose at the near post to head in a corner and make it 1-0.
However, goals from Taty Castellanos and Boulaye Dia inside five minutes turned the game on its head and looking like condemning the Rossoneri to another defeat, until the substitute Rafael Leao scored an equaliser.
The issue is that Milan remain winless in the league after three games, with the derby looming on the horizon after Venezia at home and a Champions League game against Liverpool. Time is therefore running out to fix things.
Pavlovic spoke in a post-match press conference from the media room at the Stadio Olimpico to analyse an entertaining but also irritating game against Lazio, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
Can you tell us about your emotions for the goal and your relationship with the fans?
“I’m happy for the first goal, but it would have been even better if we had won this match. I’m happy for the relationship with the fans, it’s a great feeling to play in front of them. This pushes me more and more to overcome my limitations.”
How do you explain conceding six goals in three games all in the same way?
“Yes, all the goals we conceded are similar but we have to work better and grow as a team, we will work on it in the coming weeks.”
Speaking to DAZN, he added: “We have to defend as a team. We all attack together and we all defend together. The team is everything. I agree that our defence hasn’t been up to par so far.
“We’ve conceded too many goals in just three games. It’s something we have to work on, as a team. But I’m sure we’ll do it and that in the next games it will go well.”
Red Birds needs to pay more money.
They could do it with proper investing, but they rather love it by losing on the field
They paid 75-80 mil this summer without selling any player, the problem is Furlani and Moncanda who brought the wrong players and the wrong coach… Maldini created a scudetto winning team with a much smaller budget.
We need change formation and obviously try to play more defensive football because Fonseca’s aggressive attacking style has one weakness… nobody defence.
Terrachiano was not bad , maybe we should try him on the LB position because for now Royal is really bad, slow and lost on the field second game in row..
It will be great if they sign Rabiot for DM and we need to go to 4-3-3 or 3-4-3..we don’t have AM and it is hard to play RLC on this position…
BTW I don’t know how long they want to try Fonseca… now we are 5 point behind Inter and maybe 7 behind Juve… after derby we will be 10 or 12 points behind the 1st and 2th place… just after 5 games 😄😄 we need change immediately
Yeah and until the new coach gets his tactics impemented we will be 20 point behind, and maybe he will be a joke aswell. Fonseca will get a chance to fix things until next national break mid october. They sacked pioli for this guy, they dont wanna look like idiots and fire him after 3 rounds that would proove they failed big time. Instead they are hopping he can fix things. But our midfield was a joke yesterday, no ball posession at all, none made a sucsesfull dribble.
There is nothing to be fixed… the title is gone already, look how inter and juve are playing. The best they can do now is reach top 4 and qualify for UCL which is a failure because with Pioli Milan finished 2st place this season I don’t see Milan getting there.
At this point, pioli looks a way way better than fonseca.
Now i believe we have to consider to hire allegri, fonseca has failed already, and we will be trashed by inter by 6-0. I would rather have a team play badly but can secure a win every week. Allegri with this team can compete with inter.
Yes I agree, with Alegri we can fight with Inter, but his style is really bad .. Last year Juve under him play really ugly , but yes true is they finished in top 4 and win against us. This year they will be definitely better, Motta in my opinion is not the greatest coach, but he play simply football and has better team then last year..
We can definitely finish in top 4 , but need change something.
Top 3 will be Inter, Juve and Napoli and AC with Atalanta will fight for 4th place
Allegri may not bring attractive football but he brings solidity
Terriaano was not BAD, he was scared and f receiving the ball, what aggressive style, we had no fluidity to our attack lay until Leao and co came on.
He needs to go to 3 – 5 -2 -1, that is suited to our personal, with Gabbia central with Tomori and Pavlovic on either side.
Straight flat 3 midfield of Fofana, Rijnders and Benecer. Theo and Musab as wing backs, Leao and Pulisic on the wings with Tammy upfront.
Solid balanced team with the ability to change formation mid game.
I think Calabria would work brilliantly as a right sided centre back in a back 3
so you are suggesting us to field 12 players or what with that 3 – 5 -2 -1 formation 😀
