Strahinja Pavlovic might not have known much about the winner he scored against Cremonese, but he became AC Milan’s saviour on the day.
After Davide Bartesaghi won a corner in the final minute of normal time but then hobbled off with an injury, it looked like it just wasn’t going to be Milan’s day despite their dominance. However, from the set-piece came the moment that finally broke the deadlock.

The corner was taken short and whipped to the far post by Luka Modric, the ball skimmed off the head of Koni De Winter then hit Pavlovic and nestled inside the net. The Serbian ran straight over to celebrate with Bartesaghi in front of the away end, and a VAR check cleared any handball worries.
Pavlovic was interview by DAZN moments after collecting his award from Lega Serie A, who crowned him the Player of the Match. His comments to the broadcaster were transcribed by MilanNews.
