AC Milan secured a hard-fought three points on Sunday night in front of their own fans, beating Bologna thanks to Luka Modric’s goal.
Modric got the only goal of the game on the hour mark as he swept home an Alexis Saelemaekers cut-back from the edge of the box. Unfortunately, the much-needed victory seems to have come at a cost in terms of personnel.

Injury update
At half-time, Strahinja Pavlovic was forced to withdraw and he was replaced by Koni De Winter. Captain Mike Maignan asked to come off during the second half, and he was replaced by Pietro Terracciano.
According to the latest from MilanNews, the initial information on the two injured players is as follows: Maignan has a strain in his right calf, while Pavlovic has a strain in his left flexor. Tests will likely be scheduled in the next few days to learn more.
The hope is that they will not be lengthy absences, but Rafael Leao’s calf issue will keep him out for over 40 days as per predictions. It is frustrating for both players to face a period out so early in the season but in particular for Maignan, given his history with injuries in recent seasons.

22 players are enough they said…
Jashari, Leao, Maignan and Pavlovic injured in first 3 games of the season…
Leao has cover now at least, Barte can play as LCB (making fullbacks even more exposed), midfield should also be fine…
No no. Don’t get it twisted 22 quality players are enough. Not just any 22 players 😁
even Guardiola’s unorthodox City had 23-24 players… 22 is too small of a team. with 3 GKs you have 19 outfield players, less than 2 per position…
Exactly….City has serious quality..we don’t. At one point, Gundogan used to be on the bench…he walks into any other team’s starting XI. I don’t mind 22 esp playing once per week. But at least 16 of them have to be serious starting caliber players. It’s up for debate if that’s the case for us
I would say a bit too harsh from your side
RLC (every coach talks about his potential; he’s 29 btw…), Gimenez (sorry but this guy isn’t a starting 11 level; he can be for depth but not a starter…)
Athekame, Odogu, Barte still need to prove themselves…
the rest I objectively think are good players!
inconsistency, toxic environment and many other problems (all self-made don’t get me wrong) affect players like it or not… we need a good season like this one to stabilize the ship… get rid of trash players left (inside or out on loan) and add literally 3 players (Lucumi, Vlahovic/Dovbyk and a fullback)
GK, another fullback and a midfielder could be also necessary depending on some circumstances; (mainly Maignan’s contract, effectiveness of Athekame and RLC’s season)
terraciano and de winter in…no Problem…😉♥️🖤✌🏾
Again with the muscle issues. For the last 3 years AT LEAST, this has been an issue. Idk if it’s training b/c they’ve had 4 different coaches. I think it’s the training PITCHES at Milanello. All of these calf injuries says to me it’s an impact injury, chronic acute impact.
Terracciano looked really good in the pre-season and De Winter was solid when he came on yeasterday. I think we will be fine with them for 3-4 matches.
Its more important to get Leao back now. Especially for the games vs Napoli and Juve.
